Objectives

Objectives of the Laboratory

 

The main objective of this laboratory is to function as the National Institute for Animal Vaccine for the production of veterinary vaccines and biological substances, and to take full responsibility related to this domain. The primary functions are as follows:

  • To fulfill the national requirements for veterinary vaccines and serum.

  • To manage the regional distribution of produced vaccines to ensure protection of livestock for farmers.

  • To diversify vaccine production and improve quality.

  • To coordinate with national and international laboratories to harmonize and standardize vaccine production technologies and develop revised production protocols.

  • To conserve and manage the necessary biological seed stocks for the production of vaccines and serum.

  • To assist in the formulation of national policies and standards for the production, import, and regulation of vaccines and serum.

  • To produce other vaccines related to public health as per national requirements.

  • To manage the supply system of vaccines and serum.

  • To develop new vaccine production through the advancement of latest technologies.

  • To produce biological materials required for animal diagnosis and regulation.

  • To manage the procurement and storage of raw materials required for vaccine production.

  • To arrange breeding and rearing systems for laboratory animals.

  • To ensure delivery of produced vaccines to farmers through market and distribution networks.

  • To manage vaccine cold chain monitoring, protocol measurement, and delivery across various regions of the country.
